Miessence Facial Step 1: Cleanse
Miessence Facial Step 1: Cleanse
Cleansing is the first step in the miessence facial and is very important to help your skin remove the top layer of dead skin cells, oil, dirt, perspiration and pollution. If your skin isn’t cleansed properly it becomes dull and flaky and the oil glands block up with cellular waste, causing breakouts, congestion and premature aging.
It’s important to wash your face twice EVERY DAY. Once in the morning when you wake up, and once at night before you go to bed. At night the body does most of its healing and will push the toxins and cellular waste to the surface of the skin. At night before going to sleep its also important to cleanse, to remove the pollution, sweat and contamination that your daily life that has collected on the surface of the skin.
Quick Tip: NEVER, EVER go to sleep with make-up on or without cleansing your face. This can cause clogged pores, acne, and premature aging.

Miessence Facial Step 1 – How to Cleanse
What you need:
- Miessence Facial Organic Cleansing Creme (the one best suited to your skin type)
- 2 x cleansing cloths, cleansing pads or a soft, clean facewasher
- Cotton pads (optional)
- A bowl of warm water (ceramic or glass)
First gently press the face with a warm (never hot) facewasher or the soft cleansing cloths to open the pores and soften the surface of your skin cells.
Next apply one or two pumps of cleanser to the palm of your hand and hold close to your face, (breathing in the exotic healing herbs) and then massage gently into your face and neck in a circular motion.
After you have massaged and cleansed your whole face, gently remove with warm water and your face washer or your cotton pads.
If wearing make-up, a second cleanse is necessary. (First one to remove makeup, the second to cleanse the skin).

Miessence Facial Step 2 – How to Exfoliate
What you need:
- Miessence Garnet Alluvial Exfoliant
- A bowl of warm water
- A steamed towel (steam towel in rice cooker and soak in lemon myrtle shampoo/ hand soap, or soak under hot, running water and squeezed)
Squeeze a small amount of exfoliant onto your fingertips and GENTLY massage onto your damp skin using a small circular motion, paying particular attention to T-zone if necessary.
You can use the exfoliant once a week for sensitive and dry / mature skin and a few times a week for normal / combination / oily or clogged skin. Don not exfoliate on blemished skin(only around it) to avoid spreading infection.
The polished alluvial garnet works effectively to clear congestion and is the best scrub ever, with a fresh citrus blend of organic lemon, bergamot and orange.

The third step of the Miessence facial is the luxurious, toning and rejuvenating mineral clay masks. Whilst regular cleansing removes surface impurities, Clay-based masks will actually draw toxins from within the skin so they can be washed away. The Clay masks will firm, tone and refine your skin, promoting a smooth, supple, and clear complexion. The Clay also re-mineralizes and rebalances the skin, assisting greatly with tissue regeneration.

Miessence Facial Step 3 – How to apply the Skin Mask
What you need:
- Miessence mineral clay mask (the one best suited to your skin type)
- Small ceramic or glass bowl
- Fan brush/ artistic brush/ pastry brush
- Cleansing cloths or soft face washer
- Bowl of warm water
Using the ceramic or glass bowl, make a smooth paste by mixing 1 tsp of purified water with 1 heaped teaspoon of mask powder. Stir to form a smooth paste and smooth a generous amount of mask onto the face and neck using the fan / artistic brush.
Then lie down with your feet up in a comfortable position and relax for 10-15 minutes, until mask is almost dry. Rinse off with plenty of tepid water and use the soft cloth or face washer to wipe off the mask.
The mineral masks are recommended to be used:
Once a week for sensitive and dry / mature skin. Twice a week for normal / combination / oily skin. Daily for blemished skin (for a week) then every second day(for a week), then twice weekly until congestion and blemishes have cleared.
